I am a postdoctoral scholar at Vanderbilt University. My research interests lie in the area of discrete mathematics. My main research area is structural matroid theory. I am also interested in topics related to matroid theory, such as graph theory, hyperplane arrangements, and interactions of matroid theory with algebra and geometry. For more about my research, see my Research page. For an introduction to matroid theory, see this paper or this paper by James Oxley.
Before coming to Vanderbilt, I was a Heilbronn Research Fellow at the University of Bristol, United Kingdom. In August of 2018, I completed my PhD in mathematics from Louisiana State University, under the supervision of Stefan van Zwam.
Before starting my PhD, I had several years of experience teaching on the college (university) level. I talk more about that, as well as my teaching since then, on my Teaching page.
